Adv Hlth Assess&Diag Reason

Description

This course enhances advanced health assessment skills and diagnostic reasoning across the lifespan necessary for advanced nursing practice roles. Assessment goals and strategies are developed for application within primary and acute care settings. Students will complete 30 hours of clinical experiences, which will focus on history taking, physical exam, differential diagnoses, oral presentation of findings and clinical decision-making.

1. Utilize effective documentation, verbal and written communication, technology, and interpersonal skills in the assessment, decision making, and evaluation of health care across the lifespan.

2. Apply knowledge and skills to integrate theory, evidence, clinical judgement, and research to improve health outcomes for patients across the lifespan.

5. Demonstrate advanced nursing practice using the findings of a holistic health history, and functional and risk assessments/screening tools, to formulate differential and final diagnoses and develop clinical management plans.
