Mental Health II – Children & Adolescents

Description
This course provides the basis for advanced knowledge of mental health issues, including mental health assessment and treatment guidelines to diagnose, manage and treat children and adolescents experiencing a range of complex mental health. This course addresses common mental disorders including etiology, theories, and epidemiology, diagnostic evaluation of each disorder, and evidence-based interventions for each disorder. Students explore mental health situations to learn how to develop differential diagnoses, apply evidence-based standards of care, and apply health promotion and social determinants of health lens to treat simple to complex mental health disorders in children.

1. Utilize electronic databases and determine the most current technologies needed to diagnose and treat mental health disorders in children and adolescents.
