Course Description
This course provides the basis for advanced knowledge of mental health issues including mental health assessment and treatment guidelines to diagnose, manage and treat adults experiencing a range of complex mental health. This course addresses common mental disorders including etiology, theories, and epidemiology, diagnostic evaluation of each disorder, and evidence-based interventions for each disorder. Students explore mental health situations to learn how to develop differential diagnoses, apply evidence-based standards of care, and apply health promotion and social determinants of health lens to treat simple to complex mental health disorders in adults.
