Description

This is the first course in a three-course sequence designed to develop the doctor of physical therapy student as a researcher, an advanced consumer of research, and an evidence based practitioner. This course provides a thorough introduction to research methodology and evidence-based practice. Students will learn to search the literature, critically analyze studies, and apply research results to clinical practice. The course will emphasize critical thinking and will include an introduction to the scientific method, the research process, study designs, research validity, research ethics and critical appraisal.
