Description

This course is designed to prepare students to work with survivors of traumatic experiences. The emphasis in the course is on practical applications of trauma and crisis theory. Among the areas covered are natural disasters, community and interpersonal violence, and pathogenic care. The readings, lectures and role-play exercises provide a foundation on which professionals dealing with individuals, families, and communities in crisis can build their own response and treatment protocols. This course will also help experiences individuals to reinforce, strengthen and augment their current skills. (Previous course code: CNSL 601)
