Natural Language Processing

Description

Students learn the basics of natural language processing (NLP), and how to deal with text (unstructured) data, pre-process the text data using various text pre-processing techniques, build application-specific machine learning and deep learning models. They learn the complexities of text data and how different tools and techniques are applied to solve information extraction issues. They learn how to retrieve data from multiple data formats and convert them into structured formats, and build, apply, predict and interpret the outputs and evaluate the performance of models. Students study linear programming and optimization techniques, and use them to solve various business decision problems. Students complete a significant term project.
