Course Description

This course introduces the concepts of family and group theories and therapeutic modalities for advanced practice psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) working with clients across the lifespan. The course provides a theoretical foundation for effective work with families and groups for diverse families and populations. The course provides learners with advanced family and group assessment skills and familiarity with a range of theory- based and evidenced-based family and group therapeutic modalities as well as the ethical, legal, and political aspects of family and group work. This course will include 30 clinical hours.
