Course Description

This course provides a broad overview of human resource management, emphasizing the public sector in the United States. The class begins with explaining basic concepts relating to employer-employee relations. The course then provides a more in-depth overview of wages, working hours, leave, benefits, and working conditions. Workplace discrimination, privacy, loyalty to the employer are then explored. The class concludes with a brief overview of foreign workers, government contractors, and non-profits.
